Services & Capabilities

Metal Fabrication & Welding

At Luther's Welding & Fabrications, we offer complete machining and fabrication services. Our specialty is both OEM and aftermarket marine hardware including tanks, exhaust, mastheads, and chain plates. All marine components are built to American Boat and Yacht Council and US Coast Guard standards. Plasma cutting and CNC machining capabilities are used to efficiently produce custom holes, slots, and shapes into fabrications. Traditional fabrication methods including rolling, sawing, and press braking forming allow us to complete a wide variety of assembly types and sizes. Parts can be manufactured out of aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, including Inconel and Monel alloys. Standard fabrication tolerances are ± 0.0325” while machining tolerances are typically held to ±0.002”.

In regards to welding, Luther's utilizes the latest technology in welding equipment to provide high quality MIG, TIG & STICK welding. We are ABS certified, and weld materials including Aluminum Alloys and Stainless Steel Alloys.

While our primary customer base is the marine industry, we serve a wide variety of other manufacturing and industrial customers by providing specialty fabrication of low to medium production work. Design assistance can be provided to customers who are looking to optimize their products for manufacturing. Assembly and leak testing can be performed on all assemblies, and finishing services can be sourced as needed. As a small company, our customers receive personal service and direct communication from long-term employees who are very knowledgeable about metal design and fabrication.

Sheet Metal Design & Engineering Services

At Luther's Welding & Fabrications, we can assist customers with improving their existing designs or develop designs from scratch based on a customer’s concept. Our expertise ranges from custom sheet metal work for utility trucks to a variety of aftermarket and OEM marine components. We specialize in designing custom marine fuel tanks, water tanks, and holding tanks. Tank designs can be provided by the customer, developed in-house based on customer specifications, or reverse engineered based on existing components. Tanks are built to American Boat and Yacht Council and US Coast Guard Regulations and are leak tested using pressurized air.

SolidWorks CAD modeling software is used to create a solid model of the design. This allows us to ensure that all designs are dimensionally sound and properly mate to ancillary components before fabrication, saving time and cost during manufacturing. We can complete any project from prototype to medium volume fabrication with fast turnaround and a strong focus on customer service. As a small company, we develop close relationships with customers and partner with them to provide the services that best fit their needs.
